Profile
Mike Burton was a science teacher for Fargo Public Schools for 41 years. He has been involved in education most of his life. After high school Burton obtained a BS degree from North Dakota State University. While actively teaching Burton also earned an MS degree from Mississippi State University in earth science. Burton has been involved in many boards and associations including the North Dakota Science Teachers Association, National Earth Science Teachers Association, NDU, and National Science Teachers Association.
After Burton retired from teaching, he stays involved in today's education climate by joining the North Dakota Retired Teachers Association, Cass County Area Retired Teachers Association, Fargo Retired Teachers Association and the Teachers' Fund for Retirement Board. Burton thought that joining the TFFR board would be a new and interesting challenge, and a way for him to stay engaged in the conversations happening in North Dakota, especially those affecting pensions.
